Shouldn’t Retail Stores Close For The 4th If They Are Patriotic?
My employer is not even close early on July 4th (this Friday) – - I get holiday pay (hours) but is a nuisance we have to go and everyone else who has the day off does not think none of the holiday and its meaning for those of us whose ancestors fought in the Revolutionary War. . . If not for people like my ancestor who worldwide are blue collar workers who spend much time between Easter and Christmas, probably! ! !

The first time I left the U.S. Navy, I went to a local branch Lowe. We had to work the 4th. That night, we all lined flat beds and chairs put on them so we could watch the fireworks over Mt. Trashmore (yes, that's the name of the hill 60 feet high made of trash … now a park). I asked the store manager as we did that day. He said he had not even done enough to make payroll for the day.
Have 4 stores July sales, Christmas sales (non-electronic identification or sales Ramadan or Hanukkah or Easter), Memorial Day and Labor Day, and mothers '/ Father's Day sales, sales of Presidents' Day, and so on. I wonder when they will be taking MARTIN LUTHER KING JR BIRTHDAY sales.
I'm curious what you would if you had the day off? How do celebrating our independence from England? "Your flag is flying high that day?
There is nothing so American as free enterprise system! Employers are free to open or close, and employees are free to work or take time off, or find new employment. This is the land of the free! It's great!
We're becoming a 24/7/365 society where you can buy and sell and "buy to fall" without any sense of community responsibility or ethical – - I think your employer is trying miserably and should have let the people sign up for a change in one day so significant that for the patriots and proud American citizens and foreigners!
Their is no such thing as a patriotic store. All shops are buisnesses that make money. they can care less if the world is bbqing Cuz if you earn 3 cutomers still make money
